As a businessman, father, husband, and lifelong advocate for those who live in San Diego, Fernando Garcia wants to give you a new choice for your vote. With no party affiliations, Fernando believes the best way for local government to function is by putting the residents first rather than the politicians. And when it comes to decision-making at the local level, it is better to put the interests of neighborhoods above those of special interest groups and provide practical solutions rather than get caught up in partisan divisions.
Growing up on the core values of honesty, hard work, integrity and respect for others, Fernando knows what it takes for families and small business owners to make ends meet each and every day. As a successful businessperson himself, Fernando has personally felt the sacrifice needed to establish something worthwhile and create jobs so he could contribute to the community around him. These experiences fostered Fernando's desire to pursue public service and ultimately encouraged him to seek election as an elected official to assure all the average San Diegan had a stronger voice in City Hall.

To strengthen public safety measures, improve emergency response times, and form collaborative relationships designed to deter criminal activity while generating community confidence, Fernando supports enhanced public safety initiatives.

The homeless crisis in San Diego calls for compassion but also action. Fernando advocates for solutions that will help provide necessary assistance to individuals experiencing homelessness while providing safeguards for the general public to continue using public areas safely, cleanly and accessibly.

Small businesses are the backbone of San Diego's economy. Fernando recognizes the difficulties that small business entrepreneurs experience and intends to reduce unnecessary regulatory barriers for them, encourage local investment in San Diego and develop economic opportunity that allows businesses to grow and prosper.

Fernando believes that growth should be managed responsibly and in balance. He advocates for policies that protect the individuality of San Diego's neighborhoods while finding creative ways to address housing shortages through careful community-based planning and input.
